Most flavor problems can be improved by adjusting the next small ingredient: citrus for brightness, cucumber for volume, herbs for lift, or less bold produce next time.

How to Fix Juice That Tastes Too Green

Flavor rescue updated for Juice That Tastes Too Green.

For freshly made juice with an overly grassy flavor, try a little cucumber juice in a separate sample, then add citrus only if it needs brightness. Keep the rest unchanged until you like the adjustment. Do not use flavor fixes on juice with spoilage signs or uncertain storage.

Fix it now

  • Pour a 60 ml (about 1/4 cup) sample of freshly made juice into a clean glass. Leave the rest refrigerated.
  • Add 15 ml (1 tablespoon) cucumber juice, stir, and taste for preference. This is a suggested trial amount, not a measured kitchen result or a guaranteed fix.
  • If the diluted sample needs brightness, add a few drops of lemon or lime. Change one thing at a time; extra citrus can make a sharp juice less pleasant.
  • If you like the sample, use the same ratio for the remaining juice. For example, 240 ml juice takes 60 ml cucumber juice at that ratio.
  • A small apple or pear accent is optional and adds sugar. Next time, reduce strong greens and compare romaine or spinach instead.
